Operation Smile is a global non-profit organisation, specialising in
expert cleft surgery and care. Working across *

health and dignity of patients with cleft conditions across the world,
helping them to better breathe, eat, speak, and live lives of greater
quality and confidence. Operation Smile believes that safe, well-timed
surgery is an essential health service that should be accessible to
all families. Crucial to this work is the support of generous donors.
Operation Smile Ireland is at a pivotal point in its Irish journey
with the impending retirement of the current CEO and a new **Apply on

arisen to join the organisation as its new Country Director, to lead
the organisation as it celebrates its *th
Anniversary year and beyond.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Country Director is the most senior role at Operation Smile
Ireland and will be responsible for the strategic development, vision
and direction of the charity, overall business and financial practice
of the organisation, management and staffing, fundraising,
relationship management and promotion.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL WORK CLOSELY WITH THE OPERATION SMILE
IRELAND BOARD, STAFF AND PARTNERS TO:
* Increase Operation Smile Ireland's profile and fundraising
capacity.
* Better position Operation Smile Ireland across the country through
advocacy/medical diplomacy as a global healthcare charity.
* Support the global programmes of Operation Smile with volunteers
and funding to reach even more children in desperate need of cleft
surgeries.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU ARE:
* An experienced leader/ manager who brings a combination of
business and financial acumen and has the ability to maximise
financial resources and to manage complexity.
* Someone with a knowledge and track record of successful
fundraising and marketing who brings experience in developing and
implementing fundraising strategies and campaigns.
* A skilled communicator with the ability to lead and motivate a
small team and foster a positive culture and environment.
* A people person with a natural capacity to facilitate productive
relationships with external partners.
* An authentic individual who has gravitas and is targets-driven
self-motivated, energetic, enterprising and solutions focused.
* Someone who is passionate about the work of Operation Smile and
wants to join in a vision of helping improve health and dignity for
those in need around the world.
